Welcome to the website of the Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre. We acknowledge the Darug and the Gundungurra Nations as the traditional custodians of this land.
BANC is a catalyst for creative, innovative, localised approaches and solutions for the sustainable well-being of the community. We provide services to:
- Residents of Blackheath and Upper Mountains areas (Mt Tomah, Mt Irvine, Mt Wilson, Bell, Mt Victoria, Blackheath, Shipley, Megalong, Medlow Bath)
- People experiencing disadvantage
- Children, young people and their families
- The aged community
BANC is an Incorporated Association. You can become a member of BANC!
Being a member is an important way for you to signal that BANC is valuable to you and to your community. It is also a means of belonging and connection. There are practical advantages to membership and these include being able to vote at our Annual General Meeting or stand for membership of the Management Committee that governs BANC. There are no formal responsibilities or fees attached to your membership.
BANC is governed by a Management Committee made of members of the Association. There are 13 positions on the Committee, four of these holding executive responsibilities. The Management Committed sets the strategic and policy environment for the organisation. Committee members sit for a term of 12 months and stand down at the time of the BANC Annual General Meeting (usually held in October each year). The Management Committee meets monthly.
Please contact our General Manager if you are interested in joining our Management Committee.
