About Blue Shorts
Blue Shorts is currently the only short film festival in the Blue Mountains that is open to the whole community and 2019 will mark its fourth year.
Blue Shorts is organised on a voluntary basis by local people who are passionate about film and the local community.
Blue Shorts is a short film festival held in the Blue Mountains, Australia. Entrants accepted from residents from Lithgow to Lapstone, Blue Shorts celebrates Blue Mountains stories and storytellers and is a celebration of local creativity and community. Filmmakers of all levels are encouraged to submit short films – from young and emerging filmmakers to the many pros we have in the area. We are looking for short films 7 minutes and under in any genre and style (*films in 12 years and under category need to be 2 mins or less*). We are ready to take your entries now! The closing date is 22 March 2019.
The festival screenings will be held on 4-May 2019 at the beautiful Mount Vic Flicks with an awards presentation after the screenings.
**NOTE** this festival is not listed publicly on the FilmFreeway so cannot be found by searching the FilmFreeway listings. Once you have created your project, please go to https://filmfreeway.com/BlueShorts in order to submit your entry to Blue Shorts.
Blue Shorts is brought to you in partnership with Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre, Mount Vic Flicks and Local Film Makers with support this year from Sydney Water. We will be running an animation workshop on the theme of water for children and young people ages 8-14 in the upcoming weeks. Contact 0438 099 081 for more information.
